Saturday Music School

Saturday Music School

St. Margaret’s Music Centre provides the ideal opportunity for young musicians to improve general musicianship and learn how to play well in an ensemble in a relaxed and friendly environment. We have a very diverse selection of groups so there is plenty to get involved in, whether you are a beginner or an advanced musician.

The Music Centre is run by Medway Music Association and is held every Saturday morning during term time between 9.30am and 12.30pm at St. Margaret’s Junior School.

The Music Centre is open to all children and young people in Medway aged

5 – 18. Ensembles are open to those aged 7 - 18 but younger pupils are encouraged to join ensembles if they have been recommended by their music tutors. We have a special group for children aged 5 - 7 called Sing and Play.

Membership to the Music Centre costs £15 per student per year, payable either in full or in three instalments. Your first session is free!

N.B. Medway Music Association is passionate about making music available to all young people in Medway and that no one is excluded on financial grounds. If the membership fee is prohibitive, please write a letter explaining your situation marked for the attention of The Director, Medway Music Association, in order to be considered for bursary support for the Music School.  All will be considered on a case by case basis.

Medway Music Association also run two non-residential holiday courses at St. Margaret’s Music Centre: a three-day Easter Music School in April and a four-day Summer Music School in July.
