2017 Visit

In October 2017 Mrs Pattenden, Miss Bushell and Miss Cordingley had the privilege of travelling to Malawi and visiting our link school Mtumbira. The school has grown considerably and now holds 950 pupils from the age of 6 through to approximately 15. They now have 9 classes with some holding over 100 pupils (all being taught by 1 teacher).

Whilst we were there, we observed their teaching and were able to take our own classes. We are endeavouring to improve teaching and learning in both schools by sharing ideas and teaching styles. We are also working together on Literacy and Sports projects.

Going forwards, are aims are to strengthen our link and improve communications to enable us to share children’s work more effectively and build on our teaching practices.
