Head Lice Advice
Head lice and nits are common in young children and are usually picked up through head-to-head contact. Diagnosis of an infestation can only be made by careful examination of the scalp and we would recommend that you examine your child’s hair weekly using a nit comb.
Early identification and prompt treatment can prevent further spread. If there are signs of infestation, start treatment as soon as possible. However, do not use medicated treatment as a preventative measure. This only encourages resistant strains of head lice to emerge.
